Sr GIS Analyst

The Sr GIS Analyst will help support the SHE, Security & Crisis Disaster teams through an expanding focus surrounding information automation and data science in support of development of the enterprise GIS system. This position is part of the Personal Safety, Training, Crisis & Physical Security Center of Excellence to utilize spatial-based business intelligence and territory planning applications within route, district, sales, and operations business planning. Supports the research, identification, design, and application of the latest cutting-edge analytical methods to incubate new insights that drive innovative ways to make significant impacts to Physical Security, Crisis, Personal & Driver Safety incidents and response through partnership with SHE Analytics COE. Leverage spatial based statistical techniques with the use of Enterprise Data Lakes to measure the significance of findings and insights that help efficient crisis response, driving personal injury incidents, vehicle accident reductions and security issues.

Your work will help drive new insights by utilizing GIS-based tools to improve our crisis response, security, and driver risk reduction to business operations through the identification and application of spatial-based business intelligence insights.

You will work as part of the Global SHE Function, partner with the centralized GIS COE – Platform team and report to the VP Personal Safety, Training, Crisis, and Physical Security Center of Excellence (COE).

This role would be reporting to our Ecolab Campus in St. Paul, MN or Naperville, IL.

What You Will Do:

Collaborate with IT, DevOps, GIS, Corporate Communications, Global Supply Chain, Markets and Business teams to align enterprise systems and crisis response.Apply coding, geospatial, statistical, and modeling tools to uncover underlying opportunities.Develop custom scripts and GIS tools using Python to automate geoprocessing workflows and spatial data analysis for corporate physical security and intelligence services.Create and maintain geospatial datasets using ArcGIS software, including feature classes, raster datasets, and other third party softwares.Design and executed SQL queries to extract, manipulate and analyze geospatial data.Work with GIS Developer tools to build and maintain custom applications and extensions that leverage geospatial data for the SHE & Physical Security COEs.Provided technical support to internal teams and external clients for geospatial data-related issues.Participate in the development of project proposals, project planning, and project execution.Collaborate with stakeholders to provide GIS analysis to support their Personal Safety, Driver Safety, Physical Security and Crisis needs.Support the development of project scopes and objectives through hands-on application, networking, research, and use of applicable technology.Coach SHE business partners, Markets and Disaster Teams in understanding and adopting GIS applications, information, and analysis outputs.Document methodologies used in the execution of requests and standard reporting.Develop and maintain a professional rapport with team members.Communicate effectively, both written and oral, with project team and management staff.Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.Utilize Enterprise GIS environments using Esri ArcGIS and other tools such as crisis management, driver safety, information systems, communication, and security technologies.Install, configure, and upgrade our applications using GIS software, services, and supporting infrastructure.Manage and optimize GIS environments hosted on Azure Cloud, ensuring availability and performance.Implement disaster recovery, data backup, and storage strategies.Troubleshoot and resolve server, application, and connectivity issues.Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, Geography, Planning or related field AND 5 years of experience OR an advanced Master’s degree AND 2 years of experience.5 years of experience working with relational databases such as SQL, structuring queries and geographic and spatial methods and techniques.5 years of experience with automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, or ArcPy)In-depth knowledge of ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise Geodatabases, ArcGIS Notebook Server, and Data Store.Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, databases, and word-processing applications.Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics.Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills​.Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.Familiarity with Windows Server environments, SQL Server, and database management.Proficiency in performing system upgrades, patching, and automating deployment processes.Experience with containerization or virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker, VMware) and other technologies related to Mass communications (e.g., xMatters, Alert Media).2 years of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise experience using Esri GIS software products involving GIS data development, manipulation, modeling, and analysis.2 years of GIS experience applying advanced analytics, data science, mathematics, and statistics to find insights in data.Experience working with IDEs such as Visual Studio Code, Pycharm and Jupyter Notebook environment.Experience working within Software Development Life Cycle surrounding ITIL, DevOps, GitHub, Scrum, and Agile.

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $94,100.00 - $141,100.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
