Sr Financial Reporting Analyst, GCC-Assurant
The Sr Finance Reporting Analyst is responsible for improving the efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of financial reporting within the Business Finance team. This role focuses on building sustainable, automated reporting solutions to replace manual processes and enable faster insights for business leaders. The ideal candidate brings strong technical capability, business acumen, and a continuous improvement mindset to transform how financial data is delivered and consumed.
This position will be in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad at our India location.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Design and automate reoccurring financial reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Excel, or other tools.Partner with Business Finance, FP&A and Accounting to improve data flow, reduce errors, and eliminate manual steps. Build scalable templates for forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis. Create documentation and training for report usage and data interpretation. Ensure data governance by using consistent definitions and approved sources. Recommend implement process improvements within monthly/quarterly reporting cycles. Support ad hoc analysis and cross functional initiatives to modernize finance processes.What are the requirements needed for this position?
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Systems, Data science, or related field;Experience
4 + years of experience in financial analysis, business finance, or financial reporting Hands on experience building or automating reports Experience working cross functionally with Accounting, FP&A, IT/Finance SystemsFamiliarity with monthly close, planning cycles, and variance analysisFinancial Knowledge
Strong understanding of P&L structure and financial statements, budgeting and forecasting cycles, and KPI tracking and variance explanations. Knowledge of how data flows through financial systems (ERP, planning tools)Technical Skills
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros) Power BI, Tableau, or other toolsFamiliarity with data connectors, data governance, and financial system logicCore skills & attributes
