About this role:

The primary purpose of this role is to empower Gartner’s Conferences business by delivering insightful vendor financial analysis, strategic decision-making support, and comprehensive Management reporting. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, this individual will drive process automation, and develop templates and tools to optimize and track vendor spending. This role is essential in shaping the organization's vendor strategy, ensuring cost effectiveness and accuracy, and supporting leaders in making data-driven decisions regarding contract negotiations, budgets and investments. This person will work with large data sets to extract and analyze critical information, ensuring that decisions are grounded in robust data insights.

What you'll do: 

Review financial processes and develop process automations across financial operations, reporting, and planning functions related to vendor spending.

Build templates, tools, and reports that facilitate understanding and decision-making.

Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.

Identify financial risks and growth opportunities by analyzing vendors’ financial performance data and annual spending.

Manage the technical aspects of all tools and reports, including troubleshooting issues, optimizing complex formulas, automating repetitive tasks, and ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness across all resources.

Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand annual spending changes and financial information provided by our suppliers to support vendor management initiatives and contract negotiations.

Ensure the availability and accuracy of data inputs for periodic management Management reports, providing timely and insightful information to support decision-making.

Function as the primary point of contact for vendor financial inquiries and issue resolution.

Provide in-depth insights, easy-to-understand data, and recommendations to Senior Management.

Support ad-hoc financial projects and strategic initiatives.

Expected Travel to support conferences: ~10%.

What you'll need: 

Bachelor's Degree required.

4+ years of experience in financial analysis, or operations excellence (experience in conference delivery is a plus).

Demonstrable history in automating processes via building bespoke tools.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with impeccable attention to detail.

Proficiency in MS excel, financial modeling, and data analysis tools (experience with BI tools and/or VBA is a plus).

Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into actionable insight.
