Sr Financial Analyst II-Framingham, MA (Hybrid)
Job Shift: Day (1st shift) Job Identification: 51666 Job Category: Finance, Accounting & Real Estate Job Schedule: Full time Hybrid Staples is looking for a highly visible Financial Planning & Analysis candidate focused on sales and margin for US Retail’s chain of 800+ stores. They will be part of a FP&A team that provides financial analysis and strategic support to the Staples Sales organization and other internal partners. This role will develop data solutions and leverage an understanding of the Staples Retail business to support various reporting needs. You will rely on your critical thinking and communications skills to evaluate and analyze budgets and forecasts as well as participate in projects. The successful candidate will have a core finance skillset as well as a familiarity with querying datasets to mine for insights. Primary responsibilities: + Actively manage sales & margin data to ensure accuracy across platforms + Work closely with merchandising partners in our key strategy areas of print services and business services + Independently analyze and report results vs plan on daily, weekly, monthly basis + Partner with cross-functional teammates (merchants, accounting, field teams) to support reporting needs and establish KPIs + Build and maintain sophisticated financial models to support corporate decision making + Opportunities to interact with Senior Leadership to support and present insights + Heavy emphasis on owning recurring activities and reports to run the day-to-day business with ad-hoc opportunities to conduct complicated modeling and solve unstructured problems (70/30 split) Essential Skills and Experience: + Bachelor’s degree required + 3 to 5 years cross-functional experience in finance + Experience building, reporting using data visualization tools, such as PowerBI + Comfortable working with relational databases and using SQL to query large datasets + Demonstrated experience breaking down complex and extensive data + Effective communications skills, both written and verbal + Self-motivation with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision Preferred Skills: + Experience building workflows in Alteryx + Ability to query data and working knowledge of Teradata, Oracle, Snowflake, TOAD, or similar data server platforms + Strong business acumen and professionalism with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues in all functions and levels + Computer proficiency with Excel + Strong analytical & problem-solving skills Get great perks. + Generous amount of paid time off + Flexible work arrangements, including hybrid and flexible work hours + 401(k) plan with a company match, variety of benefits and options, associate resource groups + Associate store discount and more perks (discounts on mobile plans, movie tickets, etc.) + Corporate office includes a café (i.e., coffee, cappuccinos, teas), 24/7 fitness center, convenience store, on-site dry cleaning, Chef Louie’s Cafeteria, and more Staples is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
