Position Overview
A Senior Engineer for software will be responsible for development of products and providing creative solutions associated with the design, development, and sustaining engineering for our new and existing software product portfolio. The successful candidate will possess solid “hands-on” technical abilities, an excitement and energy for product development, and a passion for their work and the impact it has on meeting the needs of patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Hands on coding expertiseResponsible for the design of a module/project, makes design choices for new product development, sustenance activities, field issue resolution etc.Responsible for working on sustenance activities, field issue resolution working with the local and globally distributed teams and with hands on approach for solving issuesReviews and approves the design and code of a module/project/defect fixesDemonstrates customer focus by ensuring quality of software releases and timely resolution of field reported issuesResponsible for analyzing and understanding the requirements.Identifies key module/product level technical risks and assists project manager in developing mitigation and recovery planReview work products and ensure the quality of deliverablesProvides input to the test strategies at a product & sub-system levelLeads and coaches the team members.Drives the application of principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and testing techniques.Owns and drives continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps.Qualifications / Experience and/or Background
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science & Engineering discipline or equivalent is required. 6-10 years’ experience in a software engineering role, with experience in development and maintenance of PC based applications.Hands on working in Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)Web framework : Express, JSP, Java Spring boot, DjangoProgramming Languages : React, Angular JS, Java Script, HTML, CSS, Boot strap, Python, Mongo DB etc.Event & Messaging – Kafka or any other Messaging ServiceUsage of tools : Azure DevOps, Visual Studio/Eclipse, SVN, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, BitBucket, Jira etc.Code Quality tools : Coverity, Fortify, Unit test toolsWorked on creating Applications using SPAWorked extensively in defining and consuming Restful interfaces/Micro servicesHas implemented projects embracing Continuous integrationReview work products and ensure the quality of deliverablesProvides input to the test strategies at a product/solution levelPersonal Characteristics
