Join Gilead and help create possible, together. **Job Description** The Senior Engineer II, Drug Delivery Innovation, will serve an important role in leading and executing projects and programs related to the innovation, feasibility, and de-risking of drug delivery technologies and combination products across Gilead’s pharmaceutical asset pipeline and portfolio. This individual will be responsible for technical leadership of highly cross-functional project teams and the high-quality execution of project deliverables. Qualified candidates should have experience and expertise in drug delivery technologies, combination product development, internal/external collaborations, project management, stakeholder management/communication, and working in a highly matrixed global environment. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, organized, knowledgeable of relevant scientific literature and state-of-the-art, proactive, and collaborative. **Key Responsibilities:** + Lead cross-functional teams responsible for feasibility and de-risking of drug delivery and combination product technologies according to project timelines and deliverables. + Lead cross-functional teams responsible for development of innovative methods and technologies relevant to Gilead’s Long Acting Injectables Working Group + Maintain knowledge of Drug Delivery Innovation project portfolio and ensure cross-project alignment with evolving departmental and company-wide development goals. + Represent Device, Packaging, and Process development to internal and external stakeholders. + Develop and execute technical evaluation plans, conduct experiments on-site, and supervise experiments performed at contract sites. + Proactively resolve technical and non-technical project obstacles and challenges. + Cultivate and foster highly collaborative technical relationships with internal and external stakeholders. + Effectively communicate ideas, project goals, and results to team members and cross-functional leadership. + Propose and implement continuous improvements to internal processes and technical execution strategies. + Mentor other engineers and scientists in best practices for technical project execution and within the candidates area(s) of expertise + Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in technology, market and regulatory trends in drug delivery and combination product technologies. + Qualified candidates should be self-motivated and organized, knowledgeable of relevant scientific literature, passionate about the patients we serve, creative, open-minded, highly motivated, results-oriented, and have high learning agility. + Conduct other corporate duties as required. **Basic Qualifications:** + A Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific field and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant industry. + Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. + Proven track record in scientific development and evaluation of technology relevant to drug delivery and combination product technologies. + Able to exercise judgment within well-defined and established procedures and policies in order to determine and take appropriate action. **Preferred Qualifications:** + A Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific field and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant industry OR a Ph.D. and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant industry experience. + Strong research and lab-based skills requiring little to no supervision. The salary range for this position is: $157,590.00 - $203,940.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
