Senior Electrical Engineer – Heavy Industry | Lafayette, IN
We’re partnering with a large manufacturer in Lafayette, IN, looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer who’s not afraid to get hands-on. If you want ownership, variety, and visibility — this is it. You’ll lead capital projects, solve tough technical issues, and help keep a massive 1M+ sq ft facility running around the clock.
If you like being the go-to problem solver and making a real impact — let’s talk.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Design & Develop: Create, test, and improve electrical systems and equipment.
Own Projects: Lead end-to-end — from scoping and budgeting to delivery.
Mentor Others: Support and guide junior engineers and techs.
Keep Things Compliant: Ensure systems meet safety codes and internal standards.
Stay Hands-On: Troubleshoot equipment and partner with union trades on the floor.
Communicate Clearly: Draft technical drawings, reports, and documentation.
Keep Learning: Bring in new ideas and stay sharp on the latest tech.
What Makes This Role Different:
You’ll own real capital projects with immediate visibility and impact.
This is not hybrid — it’s a true on-site, day-shift role at a 24/7 facility.
You’ll collaborate daily with union trades and salaried teams — no silos.
Up to $160K base, bonus eligible, with relocation support if needed.
Plenty of growth and leadership opportunity — this team values initiative.
What You’ll Need:
Must-Haves:
Bachelor’s in EE or EET
5+ years in heavy industrial or equipment-based environments
3+ years of hands-on CAD experience (electrical)
U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (ITAR compliance)
Nice-to-Haves:
Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and motor control systems
Experience with ABB robotics or leading capex projects
Strong troubleshooting skills — especially with legacy systems
Solid communicator who leads with humility
Bonus Points If You’re:
Comfortable working in union environments
Energized by fast-moving, production-heavy settings
Looking for a role where you’ll own decisions and results
