**About the Team:**
The Database Administration (DBA) team at UKG plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, security, and availability of our diverse suite of products and services. We are a collaborative and dynamic team responsible for managing and optimizing various database systems, with a strong emphasis on PostgreSQL, across different environments and product lines. We embrace automation, infrastructure-as-code principles, and a proactive approach to database management.
**About the Role:**
As a Senior Cloud Database Engineer, you will be a leader in the design, implementation, and management of sophisticated cloud database systems, with a primary focus on PostgreSQL and/or MSSQL. You will utilize programming skills to drive automation, enhance database performance, and ensure data integrity and security.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Management of PostgreSQL and MSSQL databases in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
+ Develop advanced automation for complex database management tasks, including backups, monitoring, and performance tuning.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of database solutions with cloud applications and services.
+ Conduct in-depth database performance analysis and implement optimization strategies.
+ Establish and enforce data security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
+ Mentor and guide junior database engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues promptly to minimize downtime.
+ Document and standardize database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference and training.
+ Stay at the forefront of industry trends and technologies in cloud database management, driving innovation and recommending strategic improvements.
**About You:**
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ 4-7+ years of experience as a Database Engineer or similar role, with a focus on cloud environments.
+ 4-7+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and\or MSSQL database architecture, implementation, and management.
+ Advanced proficiency in Python programming for automation and integration tasks.
+ Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
+ Strong knowledge of database security best practices and compliance standards.
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with additional database technologies (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB, MSSQL) is a plus.
+ Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for database deployment and management.
+ Certifications in cloud services or database management (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty, PostgreSQL Certification).
+ Master's degree
+ Experience in leading and managing technical teams.
+ Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

The pay range for this position is $99,800 to $143,450, however, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
