About the Team

Workday has launched an Enterprise Data and Analytics (ED&A) Team to Transform and optimize the way Workday creates and shares trusted data to drive actionable insights and data led innovation across the enterprise. To enable this strategy, the ED&A team has worked with the business to identify critical business areas in which data and analytics can make a material difference in the execution of Workday’s strategic goals. Each of these goals is being organized as a data product with a dedicated multi-functional team to drive a diverse set of data management, governance, and data analytics to realize relevant, measurable business change.

As part of ED&A and enabling this strategy, the Enterprise Data Governance team drives the creation of policies, procedures, and operating models that will improve the overall quality and reliability of data across Workday in support of operational and analytical strategic business outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Data Steward to lead CDM efforts in two critical areas:

Product Core Data Management (CDM) — managing the full lifecycle of product data, from new offer launch (NOL) through consumption in downstream systems and metrics such as ARR and ACV.

Enterprise Reference Data Management (RDM) — governing and maintaining high-quality reference data across multiple domains, including contacts, customers, suppliers, and products.

The ideal candidate will partner closely with Product dev, Sales &Marketing, BT, Operations, and Analytics teams to ensure that both core and reference data supports scalable, enterprise-wide use cases.

Job Duties:

Product Core Data Management (CDM)

Own and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of product data, from new offer creation to downstream consumption in quoting, billing, and reporting systems.

Streamline and govern the new offer launch process, ensuring accurate and timely product data readiness across systems.

Maintain and evolve product hierarchies, ensuring consistency across ERP, CRM, analytics, and reporting.

Resolve data issues impacting ARR/ACV and related KPIs, serving as the primary point of contact for product data concerns.

Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align product core data structures with business and reporting needs.

Develop and promote standards and best practices for product CDM, ensuring ongoing alignment with enterprise architecture and governance.

Reference Data Management (RDM) – All Domains

Lead the strategic and operational management of reference data across key domains — contacts, customers, suppliers, and products.

Define and enforce reference data standards, policies, and hierarchies in alignment with enterprise governance models.

Collaborate with engineering and business teams to integrate reference data across platforms, ensuring interoperability and data consistency.

Design and maintain domain-specific mappings within MDM systems (e.g., Reltio).

Participate in enterprise-wide governance councils and influence policy, platform, and metadata decisions related to reference data.

Analyze and resolve complex reference data issues, and recommend strategic solutions that optimize business processes and downstream analytics.

Serve as a trusted advisor and escalation point for domain stewards in various business units.

Mentor junior stewards, contribute to capability building, and promote best practices in stewardship, governance, and data lifecycle management.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of MDM experience with end-to-end management of reference data within an enterprise environment.

8+ years of data stewardship experience and managing hierarchies within MDM systems

8+ years of experience with Reltio (or similar MDM platforms)

Other Qualifications:

Ability to work independently and strong judgment in decision-making and prioritization.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Workday is an Equal Opportunity Employer including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.
