Summary
Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL is recruiting for Senior Clinical Data Analyst. For Florida residents and other select states (AL, AZ, AR, FL, GA, ID, IN, IA, KS, LA, MS, MO, MT, NC, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WY) this full-time remote position offers a remote work arrangement.
The Sr. Clinical Data Analyst combines clinical review, analysis and report development to create meaningful information for the Centers nursing and other clinical departments to evaluate the effectiveness of the performance improvement initiatives, the patient safety program and the risk management program. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of the center’s relational source systems, patient clinical data, internal patient safety and risk management tracking systems.
The Analyst will provide meaningful information that will allow for thoughtful decisions reducing the fragmentation of care when multiple providers are involved, and enhances patient safety, well-being and quality of life while reducing the total health care costs.
Responsibilities:
Data and database development, advancement, and improvement to meet the ongoing and future needs of Nursing and Patient Care services. To include but not limited to developing appropriate study designs for outcomes measurements, preparing reports utilizing data from internal sources, and maintain oversight the data set within the organization using various methods of tracking and intervention. Consultation and reporting service for Nursing and Patient Care service. To include but not limited to propose/support plans that prescribes strategies to attain expected measurable outcomes, demonstrate proficient use of statistical methods for data analysis, and evaluate and analyze data and design reports that assist in measuring clinical outcomes utilizing internal and external benchmarks. Optimization of technology to include demonstrating an in-depth knowledge of the functions and applications of report writing, data analysis, and data base development to support performance improvement, patient safety and risk management, stay abreast of technology changes that could improve automation and facilitate process improvement, drives innovation by evaluating and recommending customization in the design and interface of reporting and analysis, lead effort of requirements gathering, documenting and defining methodologies to support and guide data reporting and analytics in alignment with nursing standards and regulatory requirements. Quality and regulatory compliance reporting to include adapt JCAHO and the National Patient Safety standards and requirements to all clinical performance improvement activity and reports.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent field of study. Five (5) years prior work experience in a health care environment with experience in data analysis and interpretation required. Must have advanced knowledge with PC applications required (word processing, spreadsheet and graphics).Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Education, Public Health, Business, or related field. Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in a similar role. Prior work experience in quality management, clinical decision support and /or utilization resource management activities preferred. Capable of reaching closure and timely accomplishment of objectives. Able to quickly develop partnerships with key stakeholders at all organizational levels. Ability to create and lead teams producing desired outcomes/results.
