Sr Business Systems Analyst

A Day in the Life

The Sr Business Systems Analyst (Sr BSA) for Data & Analytics partners with key stakeholders to translate business goals into actionable data and AI solutions. This role focuses on Hertz’s complex, end-to-end business processes, documenting them in detail, and analyzing opportunities to improve efficiency, decision-making, and customer experience. The Sr BSA defines clear requirements for data pipelines, dashboards, analytics products, and internally focused web applications guiding what should be built or changed.

The starting salary is $110,000, commensurate with experience. The role is hybrid near Estero, FL or Atlanta, GA. 

 

What You'll Do 

Review business priorities and upcoming initiatives that require new or updated analytics capabilities. Conduct deep-dive discovery with stakeholders (Revenue Management, Fleet, Field Ops, Finance, Digital, Marketing, Customer Service) to map end-to-end processes, reveal pain points, and identify data/AI opportunities. Create process maps, RACI, and data touchpoint documentation; define metrics, SLAs, and decision criteria. Translate findings into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and data contracts that guide the creation or modification of data pipelines, dashboards, analytics products, and internally focused web applications. Partner with Data Engineering and Architecture to assess feasibility, align to standards, and scope work; facilitate backlog refinement and sprint planning in Jira/Confluence. Lead UAT planning and execution for dashboards, data marts, semantic layers, and internal web applications; secure business sign-off. Prepare succinct readouts for leadership showing progress, risks, and value realization; capture adoption and outcome metrics for continuous improvement. Own the requirements and roadmap for analytics and internal application capabilities that support fleet planning, dynamic pricing, reservations, location performance, and customer experience. Elicit, define, and maintain metric definitions and SLAs (e.g., utilization, yield/RPU, turn time, reservation conversion, NPS, ancillary attachment rates). Build and maintain end-to-end process documentation (process maps, swimlanes, data lineage) and ensure traceability from business need to value. Drive data governance practices (definitions, access, retention, PII/PCI handling) in collaboration with InfoSec/Compliance. Champion self-service analytics by enabling certified datasets and consistent semantic layers (e.g., Tableau or Power BI models). Quantify and communicate business impact; recommend experiments and changes grounded in data and AI insights. Coordinate change management: training, release notes, and adoption plans for business users.

 

What We're Looking For 

5+ years in business systems analysis, data product ownership, analytics translation, OR equivalent experience in operations leadership (e.g., Branch Manager) with demonstrated success using data to drive decisions and process improvements. Minimum 3 years of experience in the car rental industry (operations, revenue management, or related functions) or closely related fleet-centric industries Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or equivalent experience, required. Familiarity with SQL for data validation and exploration; comfort working with BI tools (Tableau or Power BI preferred) to interpret and present insights, preferred. Exposure to modern data environments and toolsets such as Databricks and Tableau (and related analytics/engineering tools), preferred. Proven ability to map and document complex business processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements using data and AI. Hands-on experience leveraging data insights for operational decisions (e.g., fleet utilization, staffing optimization, revenue performance). Strong skills in requirements gathering, writing user stories, and collaborating with technical teams to deliver solutions,  Excellent communication and storytelling with data Ability to influence stakeholders across operations, marketing, and corporate functions. Adoption and satisfaction of certified datasets, dashboards, and internal web applications Periodic travel to corporate, airport and neighborhood locations, required.
