Job Title: Application Engineer

Job Description

The Application Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of sales quotation, product identification, and system design processes. This position collaborates closely with inside sales, customer service, and regional sales managers to enhance customer satisfaction and uphold the company's reputation. Utilizing extensive experience and judgment, the Application Engineer coordinates and reports on the work of others, aligning activities with strategic initiatives.

ResponsibilitiesEstablish guidelines for performance language and environmental/product parameters to ensure optimal system performance.Collaborate with the sales team and lab technicians to identify solutions that satisfy customer needs and enhance company performance.Work with purchasing to pinpoint technical specifications and integration capabilities.Balance multiple projects and quotations at various stages under the guidance of the Technical Sales Manager.Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including special projects.Essential SkillsPneumatic Conveying / Material Handling System experiencedegree in Mechanical Engineering/Design or five years of relevant experience.Five years of progressive experience in engineering/design within a packaging and/or processing manufacturing environment.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with AutoCAD is preferred.Critical thinking abilities to proactively identify needs, assess solutions, and communicate risk/reward evaluations.Strong communication skills for working closely with various departments, employees, and customers.Detail-oriented with an understanding of the company's representation through all deliverables.Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.High level of expertise in layout/design concepts and mechanical engineering, preferably in packaging or processing.Continuous education-driven, aiming for daily improvement and leading by example.Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a professional office setting, involving standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Occasionally, the role requires presence in manufacturing areas, subject to both indoor and outdoor conditions, and may necessitate personal protective equipment like safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear. Exposure to physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, chemicals, dust, fumes, and varying temperatures is possible. The position involves frequent sitting and standing, medium work exertion, reaching, typing, lifting, climbing, pushing/pulling, bending/crouching, and requires clear hearing and speaking abilities. The work environment supports a hybrid model with in-office presence ideally three days a week, but remote candidates are welcome. The team consists of 12-14 members, with leadership opportunities available due to the company's rapid growth.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $57.69/hr.
