**Position Overview**
This role is accountable for two primary objectives:
1. Ensuring that the Procurement organization delivers results in support of the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D business strategy and objectives. The role works directly with the business, category leaders, and broader function.
2. Contributing to and leading operational execution of prioritized category strategy implementations, business projects, and other critical functional activities and deployments.
**Responsibilities**
+ Prepares and negotiates contracts specifications, work statement, and terms and conditions for the procurement of specialized material, equipment, and services.
+ Prepares and analyzes complex bid packages and uses decision-making tools/models, including financial and nonfinancial criteria, to facilitate award recommendations.
+ Conducts comprehensive supplier analysis (strategic direction, financial due diligence, market position, power within the industry.
+ Analyzes and assimilates data to make recommendations in support of the company business goals for critical sourcing and procurement decisions.
+ Ensures data accuracy.
+ Executes supplier contracts and agreements where appropriate.
+ Administers bidding and supplier selection process.
+ Leads contract negotiations and contract finalization as authorized by manager.
+ Interacts with suppliers to ensure supplier's performance meets or exceeds company standards for quality, timeliness, cost, inventory reduction, and lean manufacturing.
+ Recommends changes and enhancements to systems and processes and actively collaborate with others to improve efficiency.
**The role’s scope of responsibilities include:**
+ Understand the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine business priorities and support Procurement Category Leaders to devise strategies that advance those priorities.
+ Collaborate with business leaders to ensure Procurement strategies are adopted within the business.
+ Identify business area specific industry trends that Procurement must build into its category strategies to ensure sustainable relevance to the business.
+ Lead strategic sourcing events and negotiations.
+ Provide analytical support to team members.
+ Deliver against performance targets for the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Procurement organization in the role’s areas of responsibility, and ensure target achievement.
**Qualifications**
+ Required Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree, MBA or further advanced degree is desirable
+ Required Years of Related Experience: Min 3 years
+ Strong business acumen – the ability to understand challenges through the eyes of the regional business leaders
+ Influencing skills – the ability to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal
+ Strong leadership and collaboration skills with peers
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information
+ Foundational understanding of core procurement areas of focus (spend management, source-to-pay, technologies, and category strategy)
+ Strong project, change management, and process improvement capabilities
+ Demonstrated learning agility, and the ability to improve both yourself and the people around you
+ Strong analytical skills – the ability to process large data sets and draw actionable insights and conclusions
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Demonstrated agile behaviors
+ Expert / strong experience using data analysis / visualization tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, PowerBI) and AI tools (i.e. Gen AI and Agentic AI tools)
+ High level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community, based on broad experience
+ Proven track record in cross-functional teams and executing change programs
+ Relevant business or other functional experience
+ Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment

**The anticipated base pay range for this position is :**
$91,000-$147,200
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees and/or eligible dependents are eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
