Squad Lead

Squad Lead is a regional role that leads a cross-functional team to deliver on business outcomes. This person is responsible for respective Squad vision, mission, targets, and metrics. The role works closely with the enterprise line of business stakeholders and supporters in an Agile environment, continuously reviewing the team needs, refining priorities, and identifying opportunities to improve and innovate processes and work functions through process optimization.  

Squad Lead primary focus is on achievement of financial KPIs for their designated Squad which they ensure by supporting teams with day-to-day task alignment and coaching, customer escalations, and removing sales blockers. Squad Lead is the main interface between the squad and supporting teams. This person will ensure that the stakeholders are focused on enabling the squad towards success and are focused on delivering tasks or initiatives that enable the achievement of squad goals. Squad Lead owns the full target for the squad but is also expected to jump in and help to make sure the squad achieves those goals.  

Main Responsibilities:  

Develops short- and long-term strategy and goals for squad (together with customer segment leads, Go To Market Managers, and other leadership) and break it down into initiatives and reachable milestones via sprint plannings that they are responsible to achieve 

Focuses and ensures the achievement of financial KPIs and removes any roadblocks that threaten their realization 

Holds the function of the opportunity manager and through own example insists on and ensures the proper work cadence 

Holds squad targets and members accountable for achieving results 

Coordinates daily activities within and outside pod (e.g., sprint planning, dailies) and ensures work cadence in line with Agile way of work  

Is responsible to understand market, customers, products and to transfer this knowledge to squad members 

Acts as hands-on coach, motivator, goal setter, and navigator for the art of sales (day-to-day coaching and activities / workload distribution) 

Provides necessary inputs and aligns with Chapter Lead on all activities related to people management and people development 

Owns squad’s pipeline management and delivers vertical / segment growth 

Manages squad’s performance by providing daily/weekly feedback 

Serves as the main point of contact and liaisons with deal supporting teams (legal, finance, etc.) 

Provides guidance and support during segmentation activities 

Manages squad’s deliverables and provides necessary support (e.g. customer meetings, escalations), while taking care of absence management and travel support / proposals 

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field

Minimum 10 years of experience in country or regional management, preferably in technology or telecommunications

Strong local presence and an existing network in the Mexican market

Proven track record in leading sales teams and closing key deals

Operational and strategic leadership skills

Fluent in English
