About the Role:

\n

As a SQL Database Engineer, you will be working on projects deploying solutions for Conduent’s internal and external customers.  You will be working alongside project team members to plan, design, and implement resilient and secure solutions that utilize SQL server databases on premise and in the public cloud.   

\n

 

\n

Responsibilities:

\n\n Perform physical and logical database administration functions as required for Application to Sustain Services. \n Assist in analyzing, performance tuning and maintain test and production databases. \n Experience in database support in MS SQL Server environments. \n Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.  \n Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.  \n Experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server. \n Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts. \n Experience with backups, restores and recovery models. \n Propose database changes to ease monitoring and administrative effort. \n Document and implement changes to databases via proper Change Management methodology. \n Monitor and analyze database activity to proactively identify and prevent potential Incidents and recommend performance improvements. \n Participate in situation management of incidents related to database operations. \n Test and evaluate impact on Applications of new DBMS Software releases. \n Ensure integrity of all database components, e.g. Table definitions, structure definitions, statistic and indexes status etc. \n Report and remediate all security violations. \n Familiar with tuning utilities and reports. For example SQL trace, System Monitor, Activity Monitor, and Database Engine Tuning Advisor etc. \n Familiar with MS Service Pack patching procedure.  \n Capable of evaluating new RDMBS technology with the objective to improve the quality of database administrative tasks. \n\n

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

\n

 

\n\n 8+ years of SQL Server database administration and design. \n Extensive T-SQL tuning experience. \n Solid knowledge of Windows scripting. \n Strong communication, decision making and interpersonal skills. \n Strong organizational and time management skills. \n Able to work under pressure and take responsibility during situation management. \n Agree to work independently to carry out on-call duties as scheduled. \n\n

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration: 

\n

 

\n\n Experience working with multiple versions of SQL server: individually, in parallel, and using cross-server connectivity \n Experience creating, configuring, monitoring, managing, and remediating SQL Server in on-prem VM and physical scenarios. \n Experience creating, configuring, monitoring, managing, and remediating SQL Server on Azure VMs \n Experience setting up, configuring, and troubleshooting MSDTC  \n Experience with SQL encryption processes and procedures \n Experience Installing, configuring, monitoring, and managing SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups \n Experience with migrating SQL server data from on-prem to an Azure environment \n Experience performing data migrations from older SQL versions to newer versions on separate systems. \n Basic SQL server and connectivity troubleshooting skills \n Effective written and oral communication with team members and coworkers from other teams, including developers, testers, configuration management, and others. \n\n

Pay Transparency Laws in some locations require disclosure of compensation and/or benefits-related information.  For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $94,017 - $122,100
