Spvr Contracts and Procurement

Position Highlights:

The Supervisor of Contracts and Procurement oversees and manages the end-to-end procurement process, including the development, review, and negotiation of contracts such as service agreements, purchase orders, and vendor agreements. This role ensures all contracts adhere to organizational policies and legal requirements, working closely with the Legal Contracts team to secure necessary approvals and address any legal issues. The Supervisor will lead routine Contract and Team meetings to discuss current issues, expiring contracts, and new opportunities, while also providing analytical support for contracts and procurement projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, legal acumen, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Supervisor of Contracts and Procurement will have a strong background in procurement processes, contract negotiations, and team leadership. This role involves overseeing the procurement team, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and driving efficiency in procurement and contract management functions.

Responsibilities:

Team Management Supervise and mentor the procurement and contract management team. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure effective performance and professional development of team members. Procurement Oversight Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing, vendor selection, and purchase order management. Ensure that procurement activities are conducted in accordance with organizational policies and best practices. Works closely with the Procurement Analyst to provide oversight in daily operations. Manages Open Order Report to ensure accuracy of expediting, invoicing and receiving issues. Contract Management Manage the lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing terms and conditions. Ensure that all contracts are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, and effectively address any issues or disputes. Works closely with the Procurement Contract Analysts for contract compliance and completion. Responsible for which vendors to pursue continuing doing business with, which new vendors should be considered for utilization and provide strategical insight on contract terms during negotiations with vendors.

 

Process Improvement Identify and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency and effectiveness. Develop and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices. Vendor Relations Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Address and resolve any issues related to vendor performance, compliance, or contract terms. Reporting and Analysis Prepare and present reports on procurement and contract management activities, including performance metrics, cost savings, and compliance issues. Analyze procurement data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with organizational policies, legal requirements, and regulatory standards. Monitor and mitigate risks associated with procurement and contract management activities. Collaboration Work closely with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and operations teams, to support organizational goals and ensure alignment with procurement strategies.

Credentials and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree: Field of Study – Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Supply Chain or other related field Minimum of four (4) years experience in healthcare environment having direct interaction with healthcare providers, patients and/or their families; directly involved in business administration/support within a healthcare facility, property management, educational facility or similar business Two (2) years in a lead, supervisory, or management role.

OR

An Associate's degree with an additional two (2) years of relevant Healthcare Supply Chain experience in procurement, supply chain and/or vendor management plus the four (4) years (for a total of 6 years) experience may be considered "in lieu" of a Bachelor's degree Two (2) years in a lead, supervisory, or management role.

OR

A High School Diploma with an additional four (4) years of relevant Healthcare Supply Chain experience in procurement, supply chain and/or vendor management plus the four (4) years (for a total of 8 years) experience may be considered "in lieu" of a Bachelor's degree. Two (2) years in a lead, supervisory, or management role.

 

Expertise in contract negotiation, management, and procurement best practices. Expertise in GPO activations and processes. Familiarity/knowledge of supplies in one of the following fields: Healthcare or an Academic/Research facility. Knowledge of ERP systems, GHX, ImageNow
