Purpose of Position:
To provide assistance to the Maintenance Department Manager in a way that supports the Magna Charter, Corporate Constitution, customers, investors and employees. He/She will support the departmental leadership and Team Members to successfully meet goals and objectives by providing guidance, technical expertise and resources needed in order to be safe and productive. He/She will provide supervision and direction to the Maintenance Technicians in the assembly department area assigned to them ensuring that the Customer, People and Investor goals are balanced and met. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all team members’ safety and well-being, overall development and supervision of Team Leaders and Team Members, health and safety, quality, customer cost, productivity, and ergonomic issues through using the company policies and procedures and the Magna Employee’s Charter as a guideline. Responsible for assisting in coordinating all maintenance activity for the Press Shop area including troubleshooting, new equipment installation, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, electronic components, and automation for press. The Press Maintenance Supervisor is responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.
Essential Functions of the Position
Installation of new machinery and equipment and move machinery and equipment to effect layout changes as required. Work may include operations such as rigging, moving, erecting, aligning and making necessary hook ups placing equipment in proper operating condition.Assess the job: What has to be done .What needs to be ordered? And ensure proper parts are ordered. Coordinating and distributing all details. Communicate with other shifts and coworkers to ensure progress of project or repair.Lead troubleshooting activities and repairs. Maintains a wide variety of complex mechanical, pneumatic, robotic, hydraulic equipment and systems such as motors, pumps, piping systems, conveyor systems, robots, presses and production machinery and instrumentation equipment.The Maintenance Supervisor coordinates manpower distribution, effective communication with other departments and external contacts resulting in supporting the production of quality products meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Reads and interprets technical manuals, drawings, sketches, schematic diagrams. Works from verbal instructions to determine and estimate material requirements and to plan and lay out details of the job.Responsible to Understand and learn the operation of tools and equipment used in production and preventative maintenance tools to improve his/ her individual skills and the performance of the Press Shop.Position Requirements
Excellent maintenance knowledge regarding industrial automated facility equipment in an automotive Class-A stampings and assemblies facility.Excellent automation / robotics equipment knowledge;Preventative and Predictive Maintenance best practices.Ability to prioritize workload and establish goals and deadlines for self and teamMust possess working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing equipment/stamping process and tooling and its operation process and have good manufacturing backgroundMust possess working knowledge and understanding of quality systems, standards and proceduresEducation/Knowledge
5 years minimum experience in Maintenance with a journeyman card.proficient in MS Word, Excel, Maintenance CMMSWork Experience
5 years minimum Experience in an automotive manufacturing environment with a strong background in industrial maintenance/heavy metal stamping, previous leadership role is preferredSite Benefits
