Job Details:

SUMMARY: The Live Production Intern will work in a variety of Live Production locations which may include the Feed Mill, Hatcheries, Broiler Service, and Breeder Service. They will also gain exposure to operation support departments such as Accounting, Safety, Quality Assurance and Human Resources, etc. Our Interns are expected to contribute to our success through innovative ideas and value creation. Based on successful performance and the talent needs of our business Internships are intended to provide exposure to a real-life work environment, regular interaction with a supervisor, practical experience in the poultry live production industry, the opportunity to self-evaluate personal strengths and opportunities for further development and development of workplace competencies.

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education: Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited University with at least one year of school remaining required. Students seeking a degree in Poultry Operations or other agriculture related fields are preferred.

Experience: Previous poultry or agricultural related work experience preferred, will consider other work experience.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills

Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively; excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills: A successful candidate for an Intern position should possess the following: Be a motivated self-starter who has the desire to learn from others; ability to work independently or as part of a team; strong problem-solving skills; time management and multi-tasking abilities; and strong interpersonal skills.

 

Position Specific Responsibilities: Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild, or exotic fowl to be considered.

 

Location: This position is located at the Springdale Growout in Springdale, AR. The selected candidate will be expected to work in-person 40 hours per week over the summer and part-time 20 hours during the school year. Students must be within commutable distance to the facility, which is 60 miles or less.
