Plan started working in Egypt in 1981 and has a presence in ten of the 27 governorates in which the country including Cairo, Alexandria, Giza, Beheira, Kalyoubia, Damietta, Qena, Assuit, Aswan, and Sohag. Plan international Egypt implements programmes designed to enable communities to improve the lives of the most marginalised children and their families. Plan Egypt’s Country Strategy focuses on five strategic objectives. Through a five-interconnected, gender transformative and context-fit country objectives, PIE intends along with the various stakeholders at all levels to continue delivering positive and transformative changes so that “Children, especially girls, and young people grow up in an enabling environment, realizing their rights and contributing in both development and humanitarian settings as active agents of change”. Driven by the overall purpose of PII and anchored on Plan International core values, bolder commitment to gender transformation and feminist leadership, program quality and influencing and a more vibrant and efficient operating model. DIMENSION OF THE ROLE The post holder will report to the Sponsorship Manager. He/she will lead the sponsorship program implementation and sponsorship communication in Plan PA and is responsible for overall supervision of sponsorship implementation (including; sponsorship staff, partner capacity-building and financial management) in his/her area. He/she is responsible for the coordination with all the grants being implemented within his/her specific geographic area. He/she will serve as key liaison with partners on technical implementation and other key stakeholders involved. He/she may support in overseeing some grants if needed. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND MAIN WORK ACTIVITIES Leadership role + Lead the sponsorship area team to achieve the targets of the annual plans. + Provide day to day management support and oversee the direct reports in the respective area. + Set annual plans for the sponsorship program area including funding requirements and ensure that monitoring and reporting systems are in place. Planning and Implementation + Ensure that sponsorship team have clear objectives and expected results /outcomes for community activities for the respective area. + Ensure quality of sponsorship activities and aligned with KPIs and commitments for the respective area. + Oversee all the sponsorship communication deliverables for the respective area. + Develop and maintain productive relationship and coordination channels with all partners and stakeholders in the respective area. + Maintain effective networking with governmental institutions and other partners in the respective area. + Ensure proper documentation for all sponsorship program interventions in the respective area. + Prepare and consolidate different sponsorship program needed reports. + Ensure gender equality, gender transformation and child protection mainstreaming in all program interventions based on global standards. + Identify training needs and assist in building capacities of his /her team in technical areas. + Manage and monitor the implementation of activities (programmatically/financially) in respective area. + Ensure proper coordination with all PA departments for smooth implementation of program activities. + Provide required support to local partners and ensure that they are fulfilling their jobs in line with the partnership agreement. + Develop the project outlines (POs)and ensure that the planned activities are in line with the annual plan of the PA. + Deal with all Plan systems; SAP, sponsorship communication system, and PMERL. + Work together with the sponsorship team to ensure that Plan Egypt’s relevant policies are being fully implemented and considered. + Ensure efficient management of financial resources, including review and approval of budgets, monitoring expenditures, and implementing cost control measures as required. + Coordination with Projects’ managers/Projects’ coordinators in his /her area. + Participate in the planning and implementation of the community phase in and phase out. + Responsible for the capacity building for partners on technical parts and on PIE policies. + Participate in thematic network meetings with PIE technical advisors. + Participate in design workshops for new projects, if needed. + Support in overseeing some grants if needed. Networking and Advocacy + Support in networking efforts. + Build relationships with local level government officials and community partners in the respective area to promote the area programs and activities. + Develop the appropriate actions to ensure the respective area partners are enabled and enough capacitated to work together to achieve the planned results. + Provide support to the local communities including children and youth groups to organize themselves and engage in collective actions to demand sustainable and positive changes in their lives. + Create opportunities for community based informal groups to form networks/ coalitions with the overall purpose of advocating for their rights. Budget management and asset management + Lead the development of the annual budget of Sponsorship Program for the respective area. + Monitor the expenditure of Sponsorship Program for the respective area and report regularly to Area Program Lead on the actual expenditure against the planned and with the appropriate justification for the variance if and when required and the corrective actions taken. + Ensure that Sponsorship respective assets for the respective area are being managed properly and are well-utilized. Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) + Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures. + Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in project design, during implementation and as principles applied in day-to-day work of Programme team; + Ensures that Plan Egypt contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted. Additional Responsibilities + Ensures that the CO data collection system, is in place for sponsorship project and in agreement with partner, to facilitate sponsorship project monitoring and evaluation as well as to contribute to the definition of potential future sponsorship projects for the targeted population in line with Plan’s global policy on data privacy. + The global Safeguarding and PSHEA policy is fully embedded in accordance with the CPP Implementation standards as applicable. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under the CPP and Code of Conduct (CoC), its relevance to their area of work and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures. + Contributes to due diligence process with partners.
