The Speech Pathologist provides consultation, evaluation and speech-language pathology services. Establishes a rehabilitative plan of care with realistic goals following a functional evaluation for all patients. Provides education to patients, family members, students, staff and to the community at large. Coordinates services with other medical disciplines, making recommendations as appropriate to facilitate a complete rehabilitative process.

Education, Training, Experience, Certification and Licensure:
Graduate of a speech-language pathology program approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New York. Currently maintains the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association’s Certificate of Clinical Competence. Experience with Modified Barium Swallow, electro larynx, tracheostomy speaking valves and augmentative communication equipment. Experience administering clinical swallowing evaluations/therapy programs and communication evaluations/therapy for neurologically impaired and medically fragile populations. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise as applicable, including but not limited to:StrokeWORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:

Physical Demands:
Medium work: must be able to lift 25 pounds frequently; occasionally lifting maximum of 50 pounds. Will require ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat and reach.Work Contact Group:

Supervises:
Speech-Language Pathology students, after one year clinical experience.
Pay Rate: $50.00/hour
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location
