Specimen Processor
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Specimen Processor to join our laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, preparing, and processing patient samples with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of specimens and the accuracy of data entry into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). PART-TIME- 1st shift Tuesday-Saturday either 9:00am-1:00pm, 10:00am-2:00pm or 11:00am-3:00pm Key Responsibilities: + Receive and unpack incoming sample shipments; organize and maintain a clean, efficient workspace. + Accurately enter patient demographic and test information into the LIS system. + Label and prepare specimens for testing, ensuring proper identification and traceability. + Operate automated aliquoting equipment and perform manual pipetting of blood samples. + Conduct sample preparation and run automated laboratory equipment and incubators. + Verify sample and requisition form accuracy; flag and escalate discrepancies as needed. + Follow daily decontamination and safety protocols. + Collaborate with the Customer Care team to resolve sample-related issues. + Maintain and restock laboratory supplies to ensure uninterrupted workflow. Required Skills & Qualifications: + High School diploma or equivalent required. + Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions precisely. + Proficient in computer use; ability to type at least 45 WPM with high accuracy. + Familiarity with laboratory procedures, specimen handling, and LIS systems preferred. + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. + Strong organizational skills and initiative to prioritize patient care. + Commitment to safety and compliance with all laboratory protocols. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
