Specimen Processor
Job Title: Specimen Processor Location: Framingham, MA Employment Type: Entry-Level | Part-Time (20 hours/week) Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Specimen Processor to join our laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, preparing, and processing patient samples with precision and care. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow their career in the clinical laboratory field. Key Responsibilities: + Receive and unpack sample shipments; organize and maintain a clean workspace + Accurately enter patient demographic and test information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) + Label samples and run automated aliquoting equipment + Perform pipetting and sample preparation for testing + Operate automated lab equipment and incubators + Ensure proper documentation and flag discrepancies in samples or requisition forms + Follow daily decontamination protocols and safety guidelines + Collaborate with the Customer Care team to resolve sample-related issues + Restock and organize lab supplies to maintain workflow efficiency Required Skills: + Specimen processing and sample preparation + Accurate labeling and documentation + Familiarity with LIS systems + Pipetting and accessioning techniques + Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions + Typing speed of 45 WPM with high accuracy + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment + Initiative to prioritize patient care and troubleshoot novel situations Qualifications: + High School Diploma or equivalent + Computer literacy and strong communication skills + Commitment to safety and quality standards Experience Level: Entry-Level Training will be provided for the right candidate.
