Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Specimen Processor to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to build your experience in a high-capacity, regulated laboratory environment. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure efficient specimen processing and management of client test results.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in maintaining supplies, helping with inventory, and placing orders.Manage client test results according to established procedures.Utilize the electronic health record (EHR), laboratory information system (LIS), client software (web portal), and email system to efficiently complete daily tasks.Monitor appropriate test pending logs using the laboratory information system (LIS) and communicate with technical staff to ensure timely testing.Perform all specimen processing functions to receive and process specimens according to laboratory protocol.Perform urine collections for urine drug screens and complete proper paperwork.Operate laboratory equipment for which you have received applicable training and supervisor approval.Essential SkillsExperience in centrifuge operation and specimen processing.Skills in accessioning and aseptic techniques.Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOP).6+ months of lab experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficient in specimen labeling and laboratory operations.Work Environment
You will be working in the central lab at a level 1 trauma center. The schedule rotates between day and mid shifts, Monday to Friday from 7 am - 3:30 pm or 10 am - 6:30 pm, and includes working every other weekend.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
