Job overview and responsibilities
The Trade Compliance Specialist oversees daily execution of all United trade compliance processes and systems in order to ensure compliance with all government trade regulations, authorizations, and processes for movement of United Airlines material across international borders. Maintains regulatory awareness of domestic and foreign rulemaking and works with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities to design and implement compliance systems that ensure United's compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate trade declaration submissions to international trade authorities. Responsible for providing direction and oversight to internal stakeholders and third-party agents and brokers supporting United Airlines performance of the above activities.
Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience

5+ years in the field of customs or international tradeExperience with trade-related licenses and exceptionsKnowledge of ACE, DECCS, SNAP-R and /or OCR EASEExperience in the application of international trade-related regulations (ITAR, EAR, U.S. import regulations) in high-volume environmentsExperience with Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) and Manufacturing Licensing Agreement (MLA) preparation and administrationTariff and/or export control classification ability and experienceAudit and/or investigation knowledge and experienceGlobal trade management software development or implementation skillsLicensed Customs BrokerKnowledge of, and experience in, the aerospace or airline industryAbility to read, understand and correctly apply complex regulatory text and legal rulings
The base pay range for this role is $79,800.00 to $103,966.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
