OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
Maintain accurate and compliant financial records: ensure all accounting books and tax reports are properly maintained, up-to-date, and compliant with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and local tax regulations. Perform daily accounting operations: review and resolve daily accounting transactions to ensure smooth and efficient financial processes.
MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
General Accounting:
Coordinate with all stakeholders to perform an end-to-end monthly/ quarterly/ year-end closing process to ensure timely execution and quality of financial statements for the company.Provide insight to resolve operational issues, inefficiencies and queries.Understand relevant business models/transactions to ensure the appropriateness of booking entries.Oversee master data for general ledger/cost elements, fixed assets/ project system and journal voucher together with Shared Service Centre.Support fixed assets management and impairment review. Coordinate physical verification of fixed assets.Coordinate with the auditors, supply chain and warehouse team to ensure an accurate and thorough observation of the annual physical stock count.Manage inter-company reconciliations and clear reconciled balances; Key user of IFAS (Intranet Firm Database Application system), Condor (Consolidated and Operating Reporting) and COBUS (Consolidated Business Steering).Prepare the local GAAP financial statement report to ensure compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS).Management Accounting:
Oversee end-to-end request/ transactional process with Shared Service Centre and stakeholders. Provide insights to resolve operational issues, inefficiencies and queries.Manage master data for internal orders, cost centers and cost allocation cycles and ensure cost allocation according to BASF guidelines.Reporting and tax:
Oversee end-to-end internal & statutory reporting with Shared Service Center and ensure quality of reports prior to timely reporting for BASF purposes or local authorities.Oversee external audit and statutory reporting; Support the interpretation of legal requirements to ensure corporate tax compliance and timely submission of returns.Coordinate transfer pricing documentation with external consultant.Ensure value added, withholding and business license tax compliance and timely submission of returns.Review unit level results for compliance with transfer pricing guidelines.Prepare and ensure timely submission of surveys to local authorities.Act as key user for OCEAN (Operational Controlling of Earnings and Net sales) and Vietnam tax software.Budgeting and Business Reporting:
Coordinate and compile annual capital expenditure budgets per BASF Group’s requirement.Analyze financials and prepare regular management reports and prepare reports to support business operations or decisions.Act as key user of COINS (Cost information system).Projects & Others:
Implement relevant global and regional finance-related projects.Coordinate corporate insurance matters with the global/regional insurance team and local broker.Create PR/PO, GR/IR, payment request and Journal voucher for the Finance department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent professional qualifications.Minimum 4 years’ experience of local tax reporting and compliance in MNCs preferably with a shared service center environment or as external auditor, tax consultant.In-depth knowledge of local accounting practices, the Vietnamese Accounting Standards and System, Vietnamese tax regulations, and related statutory requirements. Knowledge of relevant international financial and reporting standards.Hands-on knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems is advantageous.Good command of English and Power BI, Excel skills.
