About the Role
We are seeking a strategic minded, collaborative, and motivated individual to join our Processing, Mining Services and Port Team.
This team is responsible for overseeing the procurement functions of Western Australia Iron Ore’s fixed plant and processing activities, mining services and Port (towage). This includes close integration with our internal and external stakeholders to leverage industry best practices, strategic partnerships and continuous improvement.
You will play a key role in contract management, supplier engagement, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver sustainable value and operational excellence. As a team player, you will generate cohesive and holistic strategies, using your critical thinking skills to connect the dots, challenge conventional thinking, and enable business step change.
Key AccountabilitiesDevelops value chain strategies for a category, prioritises opportunities, assesses risks across categories and regions, and executes these in the sourcing cycle. Manage the full contract lifecycle, ensuring alignment with governance, milestones, and performance targets. Conducts tendering, negotiation and implementation of strategic contracts to obtain favourable commercial outcomes; Builds and manages strategic supplier relationships that target realization of total cost of ownership value over and above contract value through innovation, risk sharing, R&D and active commercial partnerships Builds positive, collaborative and robust relationships with customer teams in the Asset, which are outcomes driven; Works closely with Contract Owners to support contractor performance; Applies intelligence on industry trends, new innovation and market dynamics to drive enhanced decision making and planning and demonstrates an understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance; efficiency, drive optimisation, and maximise value;
About You
Experienced Procurement or Commercial Professional with degree qualification in Commerce or Supply Chain Management is desirable however not essential. Strong commercial acumen. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated proficiency in procurement, tendering processes and tools. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and lead change. Proven ability to conduct analysis and interpret results to identify key opportunities. Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to challenge pre-established conceptions.
