Job overview and responsibilities
The Specialist - Operational Communications role will be responsible for creating relatable, clear and engaging communications for our frontline operations employees supporting the Airport Operations team. The role will work with team members and business stakeholders to deliver weekly and ad hoc digital communications that amplify our company priorities, as well as engage and enable employees to do their jobs efficiently and deliver great service. Being flexible and adaptable to the evolving and around-the-clock operations needs is important. This is a Chicago-based, hybrid position requiring 2-3 days in office per week. 

Create, edit, manage and publish digital operations communications including written content, graphics and videoDevelop targeted distribution lists for audience segments Provide internal operations communications support for key projects impacting the businessEdit team content for United brand, tone and voice complianceSupports a team providing 24/7 rotating on-call coverage for operations communications needs; will need to be available to provide support during assigned on-call shiftsCultivate and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders, ensuring alignment on objectives, communications and goalsQualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

Bachelor's degreeMinimum 2 years of corporate, operations or employee communications experienceAbility to travel up to 25%Demonstrated working knowledge of the following: Communications principlesDigital communicationsEmail productionAudience segmentationFamiliarity with a corporate environmentCreate and publish digital content via email and/or other channel platforms Superior writing, editing and proofreading skills with the ability to adapt to different writing styles and tones Strong listening and communication skills (both written and verbal)Self-starter with a curious mindset Handle several projects or tasks at a timePrioritize tasks effectively while working with short deadlinesHighly motivated and independently completes projects or tasksWork effectively and efficiently with cross-functional teamsProactive, detail-oriented and well-organizedTeam player who supports colleaguesQuick learnerForward-thinking, diligent and creativeMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $84,514.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
