As an FPGA Engineer, you will work with key business stakeholders to produce DU/RU development products as part of the overall system framework and system level design models.

Open RAN R&D Centre in Malaga is the reference unit in Vodafone for developing Open RAN chip hardware and software solutions focused on both DU and RU silicon development alongside the software ecosystem encompassing both real time embedded and server platform software.
For the role of Specialist O-RAN Dev. Engineer we are looking for candidates with a broad range of skills. The responsibilities include:
Design and verify open source and proprietary IP hosted on FPGA and ASIC devices Open RAN DU/RU platformsSystem-level simulation of 5G systems and specific hardware-oriented algorithms with mathematical tools and behavioural models (C/C++, Matlab/Simulink, etc.)Develop standardized HW/SW interfaces to simplify multi-vendor inter-operable solutions for DU/RUDeliver energy efficiency performance of hardware modules based on estimations and on-board measurements.Deliver microelectronics innovationDevelop, evaluate, implement, and maintain processes, tools, training, and technology related to the company’s approach to model-based systems engineering.To participate in Agile projects building the required solutionsTo ideate, develop and deliver chip development projects that allow Vodafone for differentiation.To design and implement APIs and data modelling on the different interfaces defined by O-RAN ALLIANCEWhat you bring
1+ year of experience of hardware design and verification with emphasis on embedded FPGA-based platforms including RFSoC systemsKnowledge of Open RANAdvanced knowledge of hardware description languages (VHDL, Verilog, etc.), high-level synthesis (Intel, AMD, etc.) and FPGA design flow as well as chip development processesDeep knowledge of hardware precision optimization (fixed-point, custom floating point, etc.)Deep understanding of 5G testing equipment and processesAdvanced level of EnglishPlease, apply with an English version of your CV.
