Job Summary:

The Ski Lift Maintenance Specialist is a skilled technician responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all aerial and surface lift systems across the resort. This position requires a deep understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and plays a key role in preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. The ideal candidate is experienced, safety-focused, and committed to maintaining high operational standards in all weather conditions.

 

Job Specifications:

Starting Wage: $23.33/hr - $39.66 Employment Type: Year Round Shift Type: Full Time hours available Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age Housing Availability: No Working Conditions:

o Outdoor alpine environment with exposure to extreme weather

o Physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and kneeling

o Early mornings, weekends, holidays, nights and overtime shifts may be required

 

Job Responsibilities:

Perform routine and advanced maintenance on chairlifts, gondolas, surface lifts, and conveyor systems according to manufacturer guidelines and regulatory standards Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual inspections of lift systems, components, and safety devices Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues, minimizing lift downtime Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs. Collaborate with electricians, operators, and other technicians to resolve lift performance issues quickly and efficiently Respond to lift stoppages and assist with system troubleshooting during operational hours Follow and enforce all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, fall protection, and confined space entry Assist with training and mentoring of entry-level and intermediate maintenance personnel Maintain clean and organized lift terminals, work areas, and tool inventory Participate in off-season maintenance, including disassembly, rebuilds, and major lift component overhauls Stay current with industry best practices, technologies, and ANSI/OSHA/NSAA standards

 

Job Requirements:

Prior experience in Lift Maintenance as an Advanced Mechanic or Electrical Technician Strong understanding of lift systems, including drive terminals, towers, carriers, and braking systems Proficient in reading technical diagrams, manuals, and electrical schematics Familiarity with ANSI B77.1 standards and other applicable regulations Ability to safely operate snowmobiles, ATVs, and heavy equipment Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Must have or ability to obtain a valid US driver’s license Able to lift and carry 50 pounds Intermediate ski/snowboard ability preferred

 

The expected pay range is $23.33/hr - $39.66. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
