The Specialist I, Security - IR (Incident Response) plays a crucial role in protecting an organization's digital assets by quickly detecting and mitigating security incidents. Requires an acute understanding of security principles and incident response methodologies and will work diligently under pressure to safeguard data and operations. This role is essential for any organization that values proactive defense against evolving cyber threats. The position will provide secondary support for the Information Service Department.


Tasked with monitoring security alerts and logs, analyzing incidents to understand their impact, and coordinating responses to contain and remediate threats. They collaborate with multiple teams to ensure that vulnerabilities are identified and addressed promptly. Regular documentation, post-incident analysis, and continuous learning are key components of the role that help enhance overall security posture. This position will be expected to interact with other senior business leaders.

 

The Specialist I, Security - IR is challenged with ensuring that state-of-the art security techniques are employed to maintain the highest level of security for all platforms and applications maintained by the company while at the same time not compromising system efficiency. The position must ensure a superior level of customer service is offered to all users. In addition, must resolve any security incident in a professional and timely manner.

Responsibilities Analyze security incidents and escalate them as necessaryDevelop and implement incident response strategies to mitigate threatsCollaborate with IT teams to resolve security incidents in a timely mannerCreate and manage incident reports and maintain incident logsConduct regular checks and audits to identify vulnerabilities or breachesRecommend security measures and tools to prevent future incidentsStay up to date on the latest information security trends and threat intelligenceCollaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain incident response plans and proceduresMonitor access control logs and security violation logsKeep abreast of “state of the art” security techniques to advise systems designers and users on security techniques that best implement stated policy and standards.Assist in conducting investigations into any alleged computer or network security compromises,incidents, or problems under the direction of senior resources and or managementProvide support in updating, standardizing, and implementing system and application configurations to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Company systemsDevelop reports, upon request, utilizing various report-writing tools in all applicationsRecognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansionMonitor and report on any security violation related to unwarranted access to company dataEnsure that all applications and system related problems are resolved in a timely and efficient mannerWillingness to travel a mustMaintain awareness of the rapidly changing Concentra environment and recommend cost efficient techniques when supporting corporate and field systemsSupport the mission and direction of Concentra Information Services both within the department and throughout the corporation.Help build team spirit by assisting other staff members and promoting a positive workplaceComplete any activities, tasks, and/or projects as assigned Qualifications Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree ; Major: Business Systems, Computer Science, Security Risk Analysis, Cybersecurity, Information Sciences and TechnologyExperience in lieu of required education is acceptableTwo years of experienceExperience with security administration and network monitoring toolsPC Hardware and peripheral experienceKnowledge of Microsoft productivity applicationsKnowledge of browser-based technologyUnderstanding of operating systems such as Windows and OS X/iOSStrong understanding of HIPAA, Data Privacy, SOX, and PCI Security Regulations a plusUnderstanding of applicable control frameworks including, NIST RMF/CSF, and Mitre Att&ck a plusExcellent report writing skills a plusLarge-scale multi-site IS operations experience a plusHealthcare experience a plusExperience with managing personal and enterprise firewalls a plusExperience with Change Management processes a plusExperience with common technologies such as SIEM (ex.
