Specialist for Engineering, Design and Testing Costs

We are looking for an experienced engineer to help Ford achieve competitive Engineering, Design and Testing (ED&T) costs. You will become a subject matter expert for ED&T cost analysis/estimation and single point interface between Engineering and Supply Chain to enable successful negotiation with suppliers. You will work with Design Engineers, Purchasing Buyers, Program Managers, Finance, and Material Cost Estimators to analyze and drive competitive costs for ED&T. In addition, you will participate in developing/establishing new cost reduction methods/tools for ED&T, as well as provide the ED&T Governance Board with technical and business cost reduction knowledge.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering strongly preferred (Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Electronics, Software, Systems, Mechatronics or similar).5+ years of experience as Product development engineer, purchasing lead, project manager or similar in the automotive industry.Demonstrate technical knowledge in Vehicle’s Exterior and Interior systems.Product Development processes knowledge: milestones and deliverables, program timing, interaction with suppliers, knowledge of typical supplier & OEM responsibilities.Proficiency in data management.Demonstrated history of driving agile transformation in a costing environment.Exceptional communication (oral & written), facilitation, team building, conflict resolution and collaboration skills in cross-functional, diverse environments. Able to work independently and as a team member.Experience implementing advanced agile approaches utilizing data analytics and the use of AI to help modernize and improve efficiency.Persuasive storytelling abilities to promote ideas at the highest levels, gain alignment, generate excitement, and instigate momentum in complex matrixed environments.A hyper collaborative mindset and ability to partner with teams and leaders regardless of level.Learning agility, tenacity, grit, and a persistent sense of urgency with a bias for action (even in ambiguous and fluid situations).Demonstrate a proven grasp of business concepts as well as quantitative and critical thinking skills.Ability to maintain data integrity and accuracy and use data to identify and solve problemsStrong collaboration and leadership skills.Clear, concise, and persuasive communication skills with strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word capabilities.Proactive with the ability to balance multiple tasks.Lead the evaluation of supplier Engineering, Design, and Testing (ED&T) costs to identify cost optimization opportunities and support supplier negotiations of ED&T.Provide commodity status and communicate with Engineering, Supply Chain and Governance Board.Lead implementation of standard processes and tools to reduce ED&T costs and develop new best practices & methods.
