Position Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The SPECIALIST-COMPLIANCE TRAINING LEAD plays a key role in supporting EHS regulatory compliance, overseeing the training processes, and determining current and future employee training needs for all of the Mid-Atlantic region. The role partners with Operations to ensure training is completed, tracked, and documented. Evaluates, designs, coordinates and implements training and education programs. Works directly with employees to provide guidance and build essential skills.
Position Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure employees are trained to meet both Company and regulatory standards.Establish effective and interactive training programs and materials to support employee development and organizational enhancement.Ensure regional training completions are entered into the Learning Management System (LMS) and provide accurate training status reports to regional locations/internal customers.Assist Terminals with the development of site specific procedures and coordinate Management of Change (MOC) system entries for procedural changes.Manage each Terminal’s SharePoint portal; train contacts of each Terminal to use SharePoint correctly and routinely ensure complianceInteract with employees at all levels (including technical working groups) as necessary, to review, discuss and resolve procedural questions, training gaps and/or inadequacies.Prepare for and participate in internal/regulatory audits. Assist with the training and implementation of related corrective actions.Participate in incident investigations to assess training and/or procedural gaps and address accordinglyLiaison between departments and internal customers for the development and modifications of operational and maintenance proceduresLead and support new employee training for all new hires joining the Mid-Atlantic team.Assist/coordinate external refresher training such as CPR/First Aid, HAZWOPER, SWPPP, DOT HAZMAT, HAZCOM, etc., as required.
EDUCATION:
3 to 5 years’ combined experience in field safety compliance, reading and interpreting EHS regulations, and developing/providing regulatory training.Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Communication, Psychology, Education, Human Resources, Safety, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE / SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
3-5 years previous experience leading/directing industrial trainingStrong computer skills and prior experience with Microsoft Office® Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)Prior experience in technical writing, reviewing and training of written procedures preferredKnowledge of products, modes of transport and methods of handling bulk, liquid and hazardous materials preferredFamiliarity with EPA / FRA / DOT / NFPA / OSHA requirements preferred
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.Ability to attain a TWIC (Transportation Work Identification Credential) as issued by TSA.Successful completion and passing of company drug screen and background check.

Must have excellent communication (oral and written) skills, verbally and in writing.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)Must be able to multi-task with multiple priorities and time framesSelf-motivated, driven, and solution-oriented.Comfortable speaking with small and large groups and inspiring others.Familiarity with a Learning Management System (LMS) a plus.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
