Remote Opportunity Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EST PRIMARY FUNCTION The Risk Management and Occupational Health Specialist dedicates 50% of their role to supporting the development and administration of the employee occupational health program, including managing workers’ compensation and ensuring workplace safety compliance. The other 50% focuses on collaborating with the Risk Management Program to investigate patient care and workplace incidents, facilitate mitigation efforts, and maintain regulatory compliance. This dual role promotes a culture of safety, employee well-being, and quality patient care across the enterprise. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review and promptly acknowledge employee and patient incidents; conduct interviews and gather facts. Collaborate with the Risk Manager to investigate incidents, identify risks, and assist in root cause analysis. Implement and monitor corrective actions to address identified risks and ensure completion. Administer and coordinate the Return-to-Work (RTW) program in partnership with Risk and Clinical teams. Manage leave programs, including system updates, and oversee Workers’ Compensation claims, including participation in case reviews with carriers. Review and assess ADA claims and workplace accommodations, ensuring compliance in collaboration with management. Conduct health-related reporting and maintain immunization/vaccine compliance for patient-facing employees. Evaluate workplace practices to ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and government regulations. Manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) programs, including N95 fit testing for clinical staff Develop, implement, and support training initiatives promoting a safe and healthy work environment. Develop program policies and procedures, conduct quality audits, and assess overall program effectiveness. Promote employee health and well-being initiatives, including the Life Assistance program. Prepare and submit required OSHA and regulatory reports. Respond promptly to filed state grievances and facilitate resolution. Serve as a resource for risk-related inquiries and provide real-time consultation on patient care and employee safety incidents. Other job functions as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree required. Experience may be commensurate with education.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 2 years related clinical experience required; occupational health experience is preferred.

Ability to manage tasks and work independently in a professional, deadline-based environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word Knowledge and experience working with ADP a plus.

 

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Non-patient facing May be either full time remote/telework or rotate working in the office and remote/telework. May require sitting or standing for long periods; also stooping, bending, and stretching for files and supplies. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard. Must be able to communicate clearly and present to small – large groups. View and type on computer screens for long periods. Work in a high-volume environment Position may require up to 5% travel.
