What a Specialist, Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated
tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. Completes receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. of
products and/or materials. Aids in the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers. Participates in the training of new hires.
Qualifications
Highschool diploma/GED/equivalent or equivalent work experience preferred.1-2 years’ experience in a Warehouse environment and material handling equipment experience required.Experience in shipping hazardous/dangerous goods preferred.Preferable to have experience in pharmaceutical industry and/or cGMP environment.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel and possess strong communication skills.Responsibilities
Assists in the training of new Warehouse employees on daily operations, safety elements, and equipment. Shadows new employees to assess performance and provide on-the-job guidance as needed.Completes daily Warehouse responsibilities such as receiving or picking materials.Requires powered industrial truck license and DOT/IATA certification within one year of hiring.Prepares shipping documents using FedEx or other software.Performs surveys and wipe testing to determine the Transport Index (TI) for outbound product shipments.Participates in inventory cycle counting and performs inventory transactions in corporate computer program.Reports errors in a timely and appropriate manner. Takes initiative and is accountable for areas of responsibility meeting regulatory requirements including but not limited to maintaining required trainings.Has the ability to safely life and/or palletize various materials weighing up to 50 pounds.Demonstrates basic material handling, packaging, and warehouse equipment skills.May perform other job duties as assigned.What is expected of you and others at this level
