Job Description

The Position

The Procurement Specialist will manage the procurement of materials and services required for manufacturing operations, ensuring smooth and compliant operations. This role involves identifying and negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials, and maintaining cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management, excellent negotiation skills, and experience in managing stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities:

Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to procure high-quality materials at competitive prices. Manage, monitor, report, and continuously improve supplier performance.Cost Management: Develop and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising quality. Support the Implementation of regional and global sourcing initiatives locally and participate in local sourcing teams focused on improvements and value addition.Market Research: Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and new products. Utilize AI tools and analyze data to support sourcing decision-makingContract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and conditions. Ensures purchase agreements are in compliance with master agreements and preferred supplier strategies. Resolve discrepancies through interaction with StS(Source to Settle) Service Center, Receiving, and Stakeholders. Expedite critical and strategic deliveriesCompliance: Ensure all procured items or services meet the required quality standards, comply with regulatory requirements and adhere to Company Policies and ProceduresRisk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain and procurement processesReporting: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings. Conducts data analysis at the local level on suppliers, supply market, cost, and price of goods and services that are supplied to Organon validated data.Sourcing:  Develop sourcing strategies and execute action plans to support the sourcing team's objectives. Analyze customer's business and evaluate potential savings through supplier consolidation. Create and execute RFI's, RFP's, and FRS's, using e-RFX wherever possible. Support and direct Global Category Teams/Leaders and Strategic procurement organizations to ensure local business goals are attained.System Support: Assist in systems training for stakeholders and users. Maintain catalog items, specifically electronic catalogs. Assist in the Change Management system process. Demonstrate high proficiency in Coupa Supplier Portal, SAP MM module specifically SAP S/A HANA. Ensure agreements are documented in the  management system.

 

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent academic backgroundMinimum of 3+ years in purchasing within the Healthcare or Chemical industries.Familiarity with procurement business processes and experience in contract negotiation and management within a manufacturing organization.Extensive knowledge of SAP (MM Modules), S/4 HANA, and Coupa Supplier Portal.Highly proficient in MS Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; proven ability to quickly learn and utilize new systems and softwareProficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing in EnglishStrong organizational skills; demonstrated experience in successfully managing competing priorities and a proven record of meeting established deadlines.Self-driven with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong negotiation and communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
