Specialist, Pharmacy Data Management - 15 Month Contract

Why this role is important?

Reporting to Manager, Enterprise Pharmacy Master Data, Specialist will be responsible for complex the ongoing maintenance of prescription drug data on Central Pharmacy System (CRX), HealthWATCH Data Manager (HDM) and Kroll Central Maintenance (KCM).

Key Responsibilities:

Provincially Legislated Updates: Monitor, interpret, and implement all provincially legislated updates impacting pharmacy practice, dispensing, drug management, and patient care. Ensure Loblaw's pharmacy systems and processes are always in full compliance with current provincial regulations.Provincial Price File Management: Manage the accurate and timely update of all provincial drug price files, ensuring correct billing, claims processing, and adherence to provincial pricing strategies. Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies to prevent financial impacts.E-Health System Updates: Oversee and implement e-health system updates and integrations, ensuring seamless electronic data exchange with provincial health networks and internal systems to support efficient prescription processing and patient record management.Vigilance & Safety Updates: Process and disseminate critical vigilance updates, including safety alerts, and product withdrawals, ensuring immediate and accurate communication to pharmacies and the implementation of necessary actions to mitigate patient safety risks.Narcotic Monitoring Flags: Maintain and update narcotic monitoring flags and associated data within pharmacy systems to support compliance with controlled substance regulations, aid in the prevention of drug diversion, and ensure accurate reporting.Drug Group Management: Define, maintain, and update drug groups, classifications, and related attributes for accurate inventory management, dispensing workflows, reporting, and formulary adherence.Data Quality & Integrity: Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve data inconsistencies or errors to maintain high standards of data quality and integrity across all pharmacy master data sets.Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams including IT, Pharmacy Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Finance to ensure data accuracy, system functionality, and compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.Documentation & Process Improvement: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data management processes. Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What You'll Bring:

Education: Diploma/Degree in Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pharmacy operations, master data management, regulatory affairs, or a related data-intensive role within the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.Technical Skills:Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data manipulation).Experience with pharmacy management systems (e.g., Kroll, Nexxsys) and/or master data management (MDM) platforms.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and regulatory documents.Knowledge & Understanding:In-depth understanding of Canadian provincial pharmacy legislation, drug nomenclature, and pricing models.Familiarity with e-health initiatives and data exchange standards in healthcare.Awareness of drug vigilance processes and controlled substance regulations.Soft Skills:Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying issues.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Position is 15- Month Contract
