1. Work closely with clients, business owners and SME’s to help capture and formalize client requirements for data needs
2. Analyze, interpret and model data (Conceptually and Logically)
3. Assist with the design and development of maintainable high-performance applications from conception, through sustainment, focusing on front-end visualization capabilities
4. Build intuitive analytic dashboards to provide insights
5. Aid in design of new products and service offerings
6. Interact with technology and operations to formulate and implement solutions to enhance existing services, create new client deliverables, or improve processes. Identify impact of changes and processes on teams, manage expectations and drive execution; facilitate acceptance of change through training and communication. Provide ongoing support for the solution
7. Explore new technologies and learn new skills to continuously improve the way we operate
8. Develop novel data solutions to drive self-service and make data easily accessible to clients and internal partners
9. Perform functional and regression testing for ongoing developments
10. Work on small teams to conceptualize, design, develop, test and harden for deployment advance analytics, e.g. utilizing Python, VBA, Excel and other tools.
11. Design user-friendly solutions for complex workflows
12. Prepare and present progress on initiatives to senior management
13. Make independent recommendations (based upon market practices) regarding appropriate resolutions for data discrepancies
14. Troubleshoot and resolve data issues, collaborate on resolutions with IT and business
15. Provide vendor feed oversight. Manage new vendor data feeds or decommission of vendor feeds
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 8-10 years of work experience within a Financial Services domain
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, or related
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Stack for Business Intelligence (SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS). R and Python.
• Experience accessing, manipulating and interpreting data to inform decision-making. Working with large, multi-dimensional data sets to uncover meaningful insights
• Experience analyzing business risks and operational processes
• Strong knowledge of financial securities product data
• Knowledge and understanding of databases and data structures accompanied with strong analytical skills
• Strong familiarity with data warehouse design principles, including dimensional modeling
• Clear and concise business communication
• Deep familiarity with BI software, such as Tableau and PowerBI
• Knowledge of systems and technological capabilities usually acquired through formal training or experience
• Advanced analytical and communication skills are required to evaluate effectiveness of processes, and to redesign or implement changes
• Adaptive, flexible style - able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strong multi-tasking and problem solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills
Salary Range:
$114,700 - 194,900 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
