Job Description

Context

The purpose of the Corporate Finance team is to drive effective capital allocation at a Group level, ensuring key decisions are strategically aligned and value adding. This role will provide specialist support to the full range of activities focused on, capital structure, capital investment analysis and long term/strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities include

Financial Valuation & Capital Management

Financial modelling capability to support development of and utilisation of the Group’s internal and external valuation model Support the financial modelling requirements for Strategy Setting, Planning and Defence events – which includes building, operationalising and maintaining financial models, across a breadth of techniques such as DCF, 3-statement models, multiples etc.Engage with external consultants to develop model capability, integration with financial systems and enable Executive-level functionality in support of valuation based decision making.Prepare analysis of the impact of significant projects and transactions on the structure of the Group balance sheet and of the affordability of proposed transactions or other special projects.Interpretation of the outputs of the valuation model to support value-based decision making.Collaborate with other functions in Group Finance (e.g. Group Tax, Treasury, Finance) to ensure compliance with the Group’s policies and processes, and in support of the Group’s external reporting obligations.Support VP Corporate Finance in communicating and delivering commitments to the Anglo Board, Finance Leadership Team and Executive Leadership Team.Presentation to senior stakeholders including Finance Director, SVP Finance & Performance Management, Treasury, Tax and others, including VPs across the functions.Maintain a wider understanding of the market environment and economic environment that impacts Anglo Group Strategy, the valuation of the businesses/Group, capital allocation framework and balance sheet capacity of the Group.

For others, escalate these issues to seek action and / or look for alternative solutionsDesign, manage and execute complex projects drawing on multiple Group and BU resources to take the capital planning process to the next level of maturity

QualificationsB.A., B.S. or equivalent degree in Business, Accounting or Finance.CA, CPA, ACA, ACMA, CFA, MBA or equivalent finance/business relevant qualification.

Technical Knowledge:

Proven experience in either investment banking, management consultancy, accounting firm, or other corporate development related rolesExperience and interest in financial analysis and modelling and valuationKnowledge in or understanding of extractive industries advantageousData or IT Systems Knowledge advantageousPreparing and delivering reports and presentations in English to senior leadership
