The Position
The position holder is responsible for the execution, compliance and maintenance of Asset Accounting related standards, processes and procedures being part of the GBS service portfolio (in close cooperation with GBSC Ingelheim, Local and Corporate Finance). He/she supports the GBS Deployment Team during the implementation of new countries/entities being integrated into GBS e.g. by conducting end-user trainings and testing. In addition, he/she performs the Asset Accounting and CapEx related periodic routines for GBS legal entities.
Duties and Responsibilities:Perform Asset Accounting processes and ensure compliance in all served countries (GBS legal entities)Capitalization, sale, disposal and modification of assetsAsset retirement by scrappingPlan, perform and monitor month-end closing procedures such as depreciation runs or sub ledger to GL reconciliationsHandling of CapEx projects during the entire investment life cycle (approval, structuring, opening, maintenance and closing)Provide user requirements for system development and maintenance and check systems for accuracyDefinition and maintenance of general system settings (e.g. customized asset classes, capitalization rules)Supervise the day-to-day business (e.g. check open-item accounts for wrong postings)First level support for Asset Accounting related topics for the assigned companies to the subledger responsiblesPeriodic standard checks (e.g. closed cost center, not entered assets, assets under construction)Corrective actions if necessary including documentation and archiving of the respective issuesSupport and liason with the auditPrepare and contribute in defined special projects, topics and/or working packagesReview of changes in accounting principles for assigned comprehensive tasksPreparation of necessary implementation efforts;Support the integration of OPUs and functions into the GBSC Support the development of Asset Accounting processesSupport the creation and maintenance of CapEx Projects and of asset master dataSupport of process and system optimizationPerformance of GBSC internal and external trainings Requirements:Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in Accounting-department of a large-scale enterprise or in a public financial auditing companyEnglish: fluent reading, writing and speakingKnowledge in MS-Office and database applications (SAP FI-AA, PS, IM)Analytical thinkingTeamwork and collaboration spiritProject-management related skillsGood analytical and conceptual thinking
