Job Description:
Responsibilities
•\tOperate all interventional radiology equipment safely and proficiently, handling inpatient and outpatient procedures.
•\tCommunicate with physicians, patients, families, and ancillary hospital personnel to thoroughly discuss all aspects of procedures.
•\tAssess patient data to interpret the information needed for identifying each patient's requirements, considering age-specific needs, and provide appropriate care.
•\tCoordinate noninvasive and invasive procedure schedule and handle telephone scheduling of procedures.
•\tPosition patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
•\tImplement radiation protection and safety standards.
•\tPrepare, perform, and assist the physician in special and advanced procedures.
•\tPrepare and administer contrast media and medications and witness the disposal of medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
•\tEnsure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents (image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history).
•\tAccess existing IV/ports and administer medications as ordered by a physician.
