THE JOB:
As an Event Manager, you’ll play a key role in bringing unforgettable experiences to life at our properties. In this dynamic role, you’ll oversee the planning and execution of events including casino marketing initiatives, sponsorship activations, and property-level experiences, while also supporting cross-property and corporate projects. With your flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm, you’ll thrive in diverse environments while ensuring every event reflects the MGM Resorts standard of excellence.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Serves as open minded, solution driven and creative project manager through planning, execution and reconciliation stages of event planning. This includes the organizing of production meetings and schedules to coordinate and track progress on items like invitations, décor, audiovisual requirements, convention set-up, staffing, safety and gaming compliance, overall set-up and strike
Serves as a liaison and account manager for the management team, all staff, vendors, guests, departments and divisions on all relevant matters and responds to inquiries, researches and resolves problems related to event transactions
Provides on-site management of event including ensuring the timing, execution, and challenge resolution that meet the high-level of standards of MGM Resorts International. This also includes the oversight of on-call event staff working to execute on a program, both inside and outside of MGM properties and providing high levels of customer service to all stakeholders.
Provide financial oversight and daily budget management of assigned events. Ability to project and track expenses for each project, as well as analyze outcomes
Serve as daily partner and communicator with event design functions to provide best in class event service offerings and options to internal and external customers. Be able to determine what creative solution and project management entails, but understanding and valuing role clarity in creative partners
Support strategic initiatives and seek innovative opportunities for new internal and external clients through the event productions CoE in support of MGM Resorts, Casino Marketing, and all other stakeholders
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Must be 21 years of age or older
Bachelor's Degree
Has 2+ years of event experience
