Ogden Street Buffalo , NY 14210 Certified - Area - Special Education Job Number 3300052726 Start Date Open Date 07/18/2025 Closing Date 07/28/2025 Special Education Teacher Integrated Co-Teacher - 7th /8th grade (ELA/SS) REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: + Provide instruction and/or collaborative services in all state and school required subjects appropriate to the needs of the student + Evaluate students using a variety of assessment strategies including formal and informal testing and/or observations + Develop goals and short-term instructional objectives in accordance with regular class objectives and the needs of the individual student + Identify students and cooperate with other professional staff members in modifying and adapting school curriculum and related materials to solve health, attitude and learning problems + Communicate effectively with staff and parents regarding ongoing performance objectives and student progress + Provide the on-site child study team with data relevant to individual student needs in the areas of modification, interventions and current state laws + Utilize appropriate behavioral and motivational techniques to ensure an optimal learning environment + Maintain all records necessary for each identified student and schedule IEPs in a timely manner so as to ensure ongoing participation in the school + Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service activities + Participate in school-wide curriculum development + Assist other staff members in helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems + Perform other duties as assigned by Director or Director's designee EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Credential: NYS Certificate in Special Education Education: Bachelors degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirement Candidates need be certified in special education or comparable to that certification area.
