Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Start Date: August 26, 2025
Duration: Full School Year (9 months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Position Summary:

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality instructional services to students with special needs from kindergarten through 12th grade. This role requires a collaborative approach to planning and implementing individualized programs, including direct instruction, case management, and consultation with general education staff. The position is focused on self-contained classrooms, working with students on the autism spectrum and those following a life skills curriculum.

Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction to students in a self-contained classroom setting Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Provide case management and maintain accurate student records Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success Utilize the MOIEP system for documentation (training provided) Support students working toward a certificate of completion Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured classroom environment Participate in school-based meetings, professional development, and orientation Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred) Valid Maryland Special Education Teaching License (required) Endorsement in Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred Minimum of one year of experience teaching students with autism (required)
