Amergis Educational Staffing is in need of a Special Education Teacher for the 25/26 school year! See details below: Position Summary:
Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to lead a semi-self-contained classroom for middle school students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction, foster a supportive learning environment, and collaborate with general education staff to ensure student success across settings.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s academic, social, and emotional needs. Deliver differentiated instruction in core subjects (e.g., ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies) within a semi-self-contained setting. Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion opportunities and co-teaching models. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and behavior management techniques. Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and state standards. Communicate regularly with families, related service providers, and support staff. Create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence and self-advocacy. Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities. Maintain compliance with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field. Valid New Hampshire teaching certification in Special Education (e.g., K–8 or 5–12). Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities (e.g., learning disabilities, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders). Strong understanding of differentiated instruction, behavioral supports, and assistive technology. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
