The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking to fill one (1) full-time Space Planner / State Program Admin Intermediate position in St. Paul, MN. The position exists to implement furniture and space planning (office organization and design) programming standards, ensure ADA and building code compliance in the workplace and to provide project support for the DNR in state owned and leased space. Through current space planning standards, this position ensures that office space, furniture and equipment meet the business needs of the department and align with the department's mission, safety and ergonomic needs, sustainability goals and space design guidelines. In addition, the position may assist in development of feasibility studies related to space needs. This position has a flexible work arrangement and may be eligible to telework on a part-time basis which is subject to change. If approved, the employee would be required to complete an annual telework agreement. **Minimum Qualifications** + Two (2) years of paraprofessional experience related to space planning. + An Associate's degree in Computer Aided Drafting, Facilities Management, Interior Design or related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience. + Experience with AutoCAD, Word, Excel and database management, sufficient to produce workstation designs and documents such as emails and other correspondence in an efficient and timely manner, as well as to enter, compile, store, and retrieve data. + Knowledge of space planning guidelines, principles, and systems furniture, building components, related mechanical systems, building codes, construction methods, and architectural principles. + Technical writing skills sufficient to prepare requests for proposals, work orders and specifications. + Knowledge of systems furniture installation. + Experience with ADA and building code compliance in the workplace. + Communication and negotiation skills sufficient to interact through oral, written and electronic mediums with a wide variety of people with diverse backgrounds. + Effective human relations skills sufficient to work collaboratively with vendors, supervisors, line staff, and other staff and effectively convey ideas and openly listen to concerns and ideas. + Ability to read and comprehend construction drawings and contract documents. + Experience in successfully managing space transitions for positive outcomes. **Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Computer Aided Drafting, Facilities Management, Interior Design or related fields. + Two (2) years experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. + Experience with the procurement of office/systems furniture and other equipment, hiring furniture installers and assuring that work is completed as specified. + Experience working with clients to design furniture layouts for offices and workstations to meet business needs. + Experience with computer aided management systems. + Experience meeting sustainability goals. **Additional Requirements** This position requires an unrestricted Class D Driver's license with a clear driving record; per DNR Fleet Policy, only those 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license may operate equipment and vehicles on behalf of the Agency.
