Come join Team Atlantis! The Sous Chef at the Atlantis Casino Steakhouse plays a key leadership role in delivering an exceptional fine dining experience. This position supports the Room Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation. The Sous Chef helps lead and train the culinary team, maintains strict food safety standards, and contributes to menu development. A passion for steakhouse cuisine and a commitment to excellence are essential.

Responsibilities Assist the Room Chef with daily operations and kitchen managementSupervise two or more team membersControl labor costs, process payroll, and manage schedulingOrder and receive products from warehouse and purchasingInterview and train new hires; provide coaching and discipline as neededMaintain cleanliness, product rotation, and food safety standardsEnsure accurate recipe execution and ticket readingSet up and break down kitchen stationsBuild team morale and support guest relations with a positive attitudeAct as a goodwill ambassador for AtlantisPerform other duties as assigned by management

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk, and hear.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Qualifications Minimum 5 years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory roleStrong knife skills and ability to use all kitchen equipment safelyKnowledge of various meat and fish cuts and their preparationSauce-making and recipe development experienceBasic computer skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentGeneral knowledge of food safety and sanitation practicesAble to clean, break down, and maintain equipmentUnderstand and uphold food safety and sanitation standardsFollow all Atlantis policies and proceduresDemonstrate full menu knowledgeConsistently produce high-quality, well-executed dishes

 

**Physical Requirements: **

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy pots, pans, and trays.Comfortable working in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment. Be able to lift 50 pounds safely. Be able to stand for long periods of the time. Must be able to move freely in confined spaces.

 

 

 

***Must adhere to all appearance standards, including but not limited to no "visible" tattoos/piercings or unnatural hair and nail colors. ***
