Operations - Assistant Department Head - The Sous-Chef holds a junior management position within the kitchen department, reporting to the Executive Sous-Chef and Executive Chef.
What you will do
Assist in the planning and development of recipes and ensure the correct preparation and presentation of a consistent level for all food items prepared through production and demonstration. Control labour and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control.Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met.Ensure that all dishes leaving the kitchen meet the resort's standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Kitchen’s food production area to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.What you bring
Requires the ability to operate and utilize culinary production equipment and tools.Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.Ability to manage and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Strong communication and leadership abilities.
