About us:

Alvita is Alliance Healthcare's private label range of healthcare products (medical devices, toiletries and biocides etc) offering over 800 Alvita products marketed in seven European markets, with plans for further geographical expansion. The Alvita range is supplied by over 25 suppliers located in 20 countries.

Recognized as a crucial growth initiative for the company, the Alvita brand is guided by a five-year plan aiming to increase current revenue by 2.5 times and double profits. A significant portion of this growth will be driven by New Product Development (NPD) launches, with this role playing a key part in delivering the NPD necessary to achieve these targets.

JOB PURPOSE

To support the continued development of the private label brand (Alvita) sold through the pharmaceutical wholesale business (Alliance Healthcare) which is part of the Cencora Group.  

This role will support;

The introduction of new Alvita branded healthcare related products in Turkey and other European markets.

The ongoing management of the sourcing and supply chain activities, related to the Alvita product range and business.   

 This role will be responsible for:

Collaborating on the sourcing of new products, managing the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, and evaluating supplier options that align with the product and commercial briefs provided by the central brand and market teams, negotiating costs and contractual terms to ensure Alvita branded products meet the specified requirements.

Identifying and implementing cost of goods improvements on existing products to enhance profitability while maintaining and improving service delivery through effective supplier management and development.

Negotiating and implementing both new and existing contracts, ensuring they adhere to company policies and legal obligations.

Managing product forecasting, ordering, and stock management is crucial to meet and support the business's commercial needs.

Working alongside the Director, Sourcing and Supply Chain and other colleagues, you will contribute to developing and implementing the sourcing strategy, essential to expand the Alvita product range across Turkey, continental Europe, and into new markets in alignment with our growth strategy for the Alvita business.

The role demands a flexible individual who can operate efficiently, navigate ambiguity, and build strong cross-functional relationships both internally and externally. Establishing productive partnerships with key suppliers is essential for advancing the Alvita range and executing the sourcing strategy effectively. Collaboration is crucial, as this role involves working with colleagues across various functions within Alliance Healthcare, including brand, commercial, supply chain, quality, and regulatory teams, both at the divisional level and within local teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and issue RFQs based on product and commercial briefs from the central brand and local commercial teams. Evaluate product and commercial offers, negotiate cost of goods (COGs) and payment terms, and incorporate supply chain planning to ensure efficient stock management.

Support product ideation by gathering market intelligence from suppliers and other sources, supporting brand and commercial teams in developing the long-term NPD plans.

Collaborate and build strong relationships with central and local cross-functional teams to manage new product assessments for the Alvita range.

Lead the preparation and execution of Alvita Commercial Supply Agreements within agreed timeframes of the NPD plan, maintaining up-to-date agreements in line with company policies.

Ensure costs of goods (COGs) remain competitive on a per order basis to maximise profitability. Lead regular supplier renegotiations for continuous COGs improvement.

Monitor and measure supplier performance/service levels in line with contractual obligations and internal requirements. Develop strong working relationships with supplier partners to optimize the supply of products to the Group, ensuring continuity of supply.

Identify opportunities to resource products to new suppliers, referred to as "switches," to improve profitability or maintain market supply, while ensuring seamless stock management.

Coordinate and manage supply chain activities  associated with new product launches, including purchase order coordination, and supplier and product setup.

Coordinate and manage central order approvals in line with delegated authorities.

Responsible for forecasting, ordering, obtaining necessary approvals, customs clearance, processing supplier invoices, stock management and by working closely with suppliers and Alliance Healthcare replenishment teams ensure effective replenishment, with the aim to minimize out-of-stock.

Play a key role in Monthly Business Review and NPD meetings contributing supply chain insights and sourcing

 JOB HOLDERS SPECIFICATION

Experience in sourcing/supply chain role.

SPECIFIC SKILLS (eg Languages, software)

Excellent English fluency.

Self-motivated, dynamic and tenacious individual with the ability and desire to work proactively.

Proven track record of working effectively under pressure

Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills

Experience in supply chain custom importation processes

Excellent analytical , planning and project management skills

Ability to prioritise and organise workload and react to the changing needs of the business

Possesses a good understanding of cost modelling and factors influencing cost

Ability to persuade and influence internally and externally at a range of levels

Good working knowledge of Excel including familiarity with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs

Contract drafting experience

EXPERIENCE

Demonstrable business experience in a commercial role.

Experience of working with FMCG and in particular with medical devices desirable.

Experience of working with overseas teams desirable.

TRAVEL

Some European travel maybe required.
