Job Description:

Role Overview

As a Line Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for BP’s global sourcing activities within the Well Services and Subsurface function across P&O businesses. You will be accountable for delivering value, handling risk, and driving perfection across sourcing and contracting processes. This role requires strong cross-functional teamwork, people leadership, and the ability to influence at senior levels across the organization. You will manage a team of Line Managers, sourcing professionals, ensuring alignment with BP’s business objectives and complete compliance to Category Management Policy (CMP) combined with local laws and regulations of respective bp operating regions. Crate high performing and psychologically safe team.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:
Provide direction and oversight for sourcing strategies within the Wells S&C function, ensuring alignment with business goals and risk management frameworks.Collaborator Engagement:
Act as a senior point of contact for key business collaborators, ensuring sourcing priorities are aligned with business needs and delivering significant value.Sourcing Excellence:
Nurture the use of a sophisticated sourcing techniques, market intelligence, and digital tools to drive innovation, speed to market, and commercial value.Negotiation Expertise:
Applies sophisticated negotiation techniques to consistently secure high-value outcomes. Resolves stalled negotiations and adapts strategies based on situational needs to improve supplier value.Governance & Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with CMP, FBT S2C procurement controls, regional governance, contract templates, and Delegation of Authority (DoA) requirements.Performance Management:
Supervise and report on team performance using key metrics, including value delivery, cycle time, and collaborator satisfaction.Change Leadership:
Own the adoption of new systems, processes, and ways of working across the sourcing teams.Team Management & Development:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of sourcing professionals. Foster a high-performance culture focused on capability building, career development, and continuous improvement.Psychological Safety & Inclusion:Create and maintain a psychologically safe team environment where individuals feel respected, heard, and empowered to speak up, share ideas, and challenge constructively without fear of negative consequences.Entrepreneurial mentality:Demonstrate and instill an entrepreneurial mentality within the team—encouraging innovation, ownership, and proactive problem-solving to unlock new value opportunities.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, or related field.Minimum 15 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.5 years of sourcing, contracting and contract management experience in drilling, well services, subsurface or equivalent in hydrocarbon industry will be an advantage.Proven track record of leading high-performing, multi-cultural global teams and delivering complex sourcing strategies.Strong commercial savvy, negotiation expertise, and supplier relationship management skills.Experience working in a global, matrixed organization with cross-cultural teams.Demonstrated ability to influence senior collaborators and drive strategic outcomes.
