We are now looking for a Sourcing Manager for Airbus GBS Portugal!
Responsibilities - your mission
As the Sourcing Manager within our Source to Pay pillar in the GBS, you will lead a team of professionals while acting as a key driver of performance, service excellence and stakeholder engagement in a complex Center of Competence environment. Your role is to ensure operational delivery while managing senior stakeholders across Airbus functions and countries, enabling global alignment and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership & People Management
Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team, fostering engagement, accountability, and collaboration.
Support team leaders in people management topics including performance evaluations, career development, and upskilling.
Build a strong culture of service excellence, agility, and empowerment.
2. Operations & Performance
Oversee the execution of procurement processes across commodities and ensure alignment with global standards and targets.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, process harmonization, and digital transformation within procurement.
Ensure rigorous adherence to Finance, Procurement, and Compliance policies and standards.
3. Stakeholder Engagement
Act as the primary interface with senior procurement leaders and cross-functional stakeholders in core Airbus countries.
Manage challenging stakeholder relationships with diplomacy and assertiveness, ensuring satisfaction and alignment of expectations.
Collaborate with Commodity Managers and Procurement Heads to ensure seamless integration between GBS teams and local operations.
4. Strategy & Governance
Contribute to the definition and deployment of procurement strategies within the S2P scope.
Monitor workforce planning and support the evolution of the GBS Sourcing model as a center of competence.
Support change management activities and communication related to procurement initiatives.
5. Project & Transformation Leadership
Sponsor and lead cross-functional projects, including system evolutions and process reengineering.
Actively contribute to organizational transformation programs related to procurement and business services.
Requirements - our ideal candidate will have
10+ years of experience in Procurement, preferably in a complex, multinational industrial or commercial environment.
5+ years in leadership roles, including managing teams and working in matrix or international structures.
Strong experience managing senior stakeholders across countries, ideally in a shared services or center of competence model.
Demonstrated ability to influence, drive change, and resolve conflicts.
Strong project management and decision-making capabilities.
Proven digital acumen.
Fluent in English.
